Splashing Water in the Pool

Which lesson is right for me?

If you and your child would prefer each others' company in the water, Parent & Me is a great place to start.

If your swimmer is already comfortable in the water, they’re ready to learn directly with the instructor in a private or group lesson. Group lessons work best with a similar age and skill level from every participant.

We recommend shorter lessons (25-30 mins) for swimmers younger than 3, and longer lessons (45-60 mins) for swimmers who are developmentally prepared to practice skills and technique!

More time in the water is always great for developing and sharpening skills - there's no wrong amount of lessons to begin.

Pricing is available if you click into any package offering below - we're always available for further questions via chat or phone!

  • What's the cost?
At this time, we offer the following package options: 4 Lesson Starter Pack, 8 Lesson Basic Pack, and 12 Lesson Season Pack. The cost of each is outlined in the package lessons above. The cost per lesson is more affordable when you purchase more lessons up front. You also are guaranteed your preferred scheduling option if you purchase and schedule lessons at once. Otherwise, there is no guarantee that your chosen dates/times will remain available with your instructor until you're fully paid and scheduled!
  • How many lessons should I purchase?
We build our a schedule that works well for your family within the goals that you have for swim lessons. Our packages describe more detail as to what we can expect with each amount of lessons. 4 Lesson Starter Pack is an introduction to the instructor, establishing realistic goals, and setting the tone of what we can expect to learn together in the amount of time we have together. 8 Lesson Basic Pack can often move swimmers through one level of coursework; that is, to advance them one level beyond where they started with us. 12 Lesson Season Pack is the standard amount of swim lessons booked 1x per week for one swim season. As long as swimmers have the chance to practice 2-3 times with supervision between lessons, it's likely they'll advance 2-3 levels in one summer.
  • How long until my child is water safe?
There's no guarantee to ever being completely water safe. Children should never swim unsupervised. Everyone learns at a different pace. We use the combination of our collective experience and customized approach to meet each individual exactly where they're at in their learning journey. Each level usually takes an average of 8 lessons to complete, start to finish. The cadence for scheduling lessons is up to your family; we recommend 2-3 times per week minimum, to see maximum results. Maintenance lessons at once per week are also an option to continue the skills once they've been established.
  • Do you offer make-up lessons?
We do! With a minimum of 24 hours' notice for cancellations, you can reschedule your lesson directly with your instructor based on his or her next availability.
  • What happens if my child is more or less experienced than others in a group class?
We want our swimmers to get the most out of each lesson. For group classes to be equally effective for all swimmers, we require them to be evaluated at a similar skill level. This allows them to learn through reinforcement when observing the other students. If swimmers are at a noticeably different place in their swim journey, we offer to work with them in private lessons or a different group, if available.
  • How many lessons does my child need?
With each level of coursework, swimmers will improve substantially in specific and useful ways, making them more well-rounded when it comes to water safety. Each level builds upon the last and we meet swimmers at their current skill level to facilitate a natural progression. Each level generally consists of 8 lessons, including both the first and last assessment exams! We recommend starting with a commitment you're comfortable with and adding more from there, but know that preferred scheduling is not guaranteed until paid in full and booked!
  • Do you offer refunds?
At this time, we first offer the ability to change swim instructors. See our Terms and Conditions for more details.
  • Can I have lessons if my pool isn't heated?
Through lots of experience, we've learned that cold water is a distraction from learning. 85 - 90℉ is an ideal temperature for swimmers to focus on the skills and not on the chills. Older kids tend to have a higher tolerance for the cold (age 6+) but we wouldn't recommend lessons in any pools colder than 78℉.
  • Can I change instructors?
You certainly can! We're committed to providing you with an experience that leaves you feeling confident and choosing the instructor your child best connects with is essential to that. Our instructors are permitted to take sick days and in that case we will provide you with a suitable substitute who can pick up where they've left off!
